KJ Snow Holds off Collins for the Win |
August 28, 2010 Chuck Hamblin |
KJ Snow in the 600 Restrictor Class had a heck of a feature win holding on to 19 of the 20 lap main event, except for lap 5 when Amanda Evans slipped in but KJ recovered the lead, but then on lap 16 John Collins had moved up to 2nd and was putting the pressure on Snow but not enough to take the win away from KJ . The final results were Snow, Collins, Evans, Kyle Clark, Merissa Rose, Carson Macedo, Buddy Shepherd, Riggin Martella, Bryce Volpa, Brayden Perry, Kyler Shaw, Brendan Warmerdam, Griffith Jones and Collin Markle. DNF was Cody Christensen. Fast time was posted by Carson Macedo with a lap of 11.826 at 60.883mph. Heat wins went to went to Snow & Collins. Giovanni Scelzi was back in victory lane for the 11th time this season, in the Junior Sprint class taking the lead on lap 13 when he took advantage of lapped traffic, and got around the leaders on the outside, and onto the win ahead of Josiah Ribeiro, Kaleb Montgomery, Alex Coronado, Dahne Lynn McKay, Mark Doss, Cole Danell, Skylar Turner, Austin Warmerdam, Christopher Silva, Jack Tracy, Bryson Berna, Conner Danell, Tristen Neves and Bryce Eames. The 600 multi class did not get off to a good start as the points leader Mitchell Faccinto along with five other cars ended up in a big pile at the top of turn one. The #4 of Faccinto had to be trailored off the track with front end damage along with Vern Sweeney, Geoffrey Menefee and Trevor Schmid. When the pile was cleared and the race resumed it was Cody Smothermon in the lead for 5 laps and it looked like he lost power and Jason Rogers tagged his rear bumper but didn’t loose his momentum and was able to hold on to first, but not without the #2 of Ryan Reeves right there trying to take over the #1 spot until lap 11 when Dominic Scelzi took over till lap 29 when Reeves got it back and held on for a 2nd place at the checkered flag. Ribeiro, Shepherd, Shaw, Hurst and Hagopian Post Wins at Lemoore |
May 8, 2010 By Chuck Hamblin |
The evening got off to a great start with opening ceremonies under the direction of Carol Evans having all the drivers and their mothers lining up on the front straight away. The mothers were then presented with a beautiful pink carnation prior to the start of the racing program. If Lemoore was handing out hard charger awards I would have given one to Josiah Ribeiro. Josiah started the 20 lap feature inside the 2nd row behind Kaleb Montgomery. Just after the start Josiah and Kaleb got tangled in turn 2 and had to go to the back of the pack. This put the points leader Giovanni Scelzi into the lead and pulling away when mechanical problems sent Scelzi to the infield. This then opened the door for Cole Macedo and Alex Panella to do battle along with Christopher Silva. Ribeiro was on the move coming through the pack to real them in and finally taking the win coming from the back. The final finish was Ribeiro, Macedo, Silva, Montgomery, Alex Coronado, Tanner Baker, Jack Tracy, Dahne Lynn McKay, Bryce Eames, Alex Panella, Mark Doss, Austin Warmerdam, Kameron Beard, Tyler Stidham, Blayke Perry, Bryson Berna, Jayln Caldera, Matthew Ordunez and Scelzi. Heat wins went to Montgomery, Ribeiro and Warmerdam. Scelzi posted the fast time with a lap of 13.756 at 52.341 mph. Bakersfield driver Buddy Shepherd, a rookie in the restricted class, started the main event in 6th, but it didn’t take long for Buddy to find the groove to go forward and made his way to the front and took home the win in the 600 Restricted class ahead of Riley Simmons, Carson Macedo, Tucker Worth, Scott Parker, John Collins, Tristan Guardino, Kyler Shaw, KJ Snow, Ethan Evans, Bryce Volpa, Brenden Warmerdam, Merissa Rose, Griffith Jones, Brayden Perry, Donny Piper, Holden Roza, Brayden Stidham and Kyle Clark. Heat wins went to Macedo and Guardino. Fast time went to KJ Snow with 12.272 at 58.670 mph. In the 600 Non-Wing class Fresno shoe Koen Shaw started the 20 lap feature from the pole position and lead from start to finish ahead of Austin Liggett, Nicco Russo, Billy Lawless, Jacob Clark, Skip Sisson, Andy Thompson, Kolby Araki and Cody Key. Andy Thompson took the heat race. Fast time went to Kolby Araki with 12.334 at 58.375mph. Landon Hurst put his previous racing skills to good use by taking his 2nd feature win at Lemoore. It took awhile to get a complete lap in as cars seemed to get spun around and tangled up. When all the dust and spins settled down it was Hurst starting from the pole and lead from start to finish for the win. Following at the checkered flag was Alexandria “Alex” Raiskup, Cody Smothermon, Mike Schott, Garrett Long, Darrick Gowens, Ben Worth, Ethan Myatt, Larry Thompson, KC Weikle, DJ Netto, Joe Kendall and the DNF’s were Mark Cypert, Gerritt Willard, Seth Hancock, Duane Pederson, Luca Romanazzi and Andrew Sweeney. The heat races were won by two rookies, DJ Netto and Garrett Long. Ben Worth had the fast time honors with a lap of 11.550 at 62.338 MPH. In the 600 Multi Class main event there were 18 drivers all hungry for a win, but Jake Hagopian starting back in the 4th row ended up being the driver that should have gotten the “hard charger” award for the 30 lap main event. When the green flag dropped the first two rows had local Mitchell Faccinto and Matt Brown from Australia row one and Michael Faccinto and Dominic Scelzi in row two. It looked like it was going to be another Faccinto battle for the win until Hagopian got up in the marbles and started dusting off the top side of the track and got it hooked up and made his way to the front on the top and stretched out his lead at the checkered flag and the win. Following Jake were Michael Faccinto, Mitchell Faccinto, Dominic Scelzi, Austin Stone, Roger Rose, Heath Duinkerken, Trent Carter, Tyler Turner, Jason Schoelen, Verne Sweeney, Matt Brown, Ryan Worth, Landon Hurst, Becca Leach, Trevor Schmid, Lauren Brown and Mike Schott. The 4AU of Matt Brown had fast time with 11.526 at 62.467MPH. Heat wins went to Dominic Scelzi and Mitchell Faccinto. It was a 88 car race program. |
A Mother's Day Tribute |
What Would We Do Without Our Moms |
By: Carol Evans May 8, 2010 |
What would we do without our moms? From the very beginning, they are the one whose arms we cry to be in, they are the ones to feed us and cradle us. They are the ones who we grow to depend upon, and that we know we can call upon night or day. They are the ones who cook for us, and make sure we eat right. They are the ones to make sure our clothes are clean, and put on right. They are the ones who make sure you are up, and ready for school, and they are the ones to read all the school notes, and follow thru. They are the ones who make sure that we study, and that the homework is done, and that our grades our good. They are the ones that make sure we are at every game, every dance, every race. They are the ones who clean, and make the house a home. They are the ones to buy all the gifts, teaching us to be loving, caring, giving and kind. They are the ones when we are sick that we long to be cared for by, even at age 50 something. They are the ones whose touch, whose hugs just makes your day. They are the ones who can make you happy when you are sad, and give you a shoulder to cry on. They are the ones who stand by your side whether you are right or wrong, and will defend you to their last breathe. They are the ones who hug you and tell you everything will be alright, and somehow after you hear it, you know it will be. They are the ones who teach us everything from brushing our teeth, to tying our shoes, to making our bed, to doing laundry, to cook, to clean, to be respectful of others, and by their patience with us, they teach us patience. Moms are the greatest teachers on the face of the earth. They have the greatest call and responsibility upon their shoulders, and their shoulders are big to bear it all with beauty and grace. They are the ones to kneel by your bed at night and teach you how to pray. They are the ones who hold you up to God everyday in prayer. They are the ones that we depend upon for our strength, our support, and they are not only our moms, they are our best friends. What would we do without our moms?

METAL MULISHA MILILTARY APPRECIATION |
By: Carol Evans |
April 11, 2010 |
SPECIAL THANKS to all the Micro Sprints Drivers that came out on Saturday for the Military Appreciation Night, and supported KE Promotions and our military! You guys put on a great show. In fact due to windy conditions causing Metal Mulisha to withdraw from jumping, you were the show. You performed in front of a record crowd of nearly 1700 people. What a great night with the stands to capacity, box seats full, suites full, fans in the infield and in the pits, and a flyover by 2 F-18's, provided by Naval Air Station Lemoore. It was an amazing night. The Metal Mulisha team along with Kyle Evans put on a Micro Sprint Exhibition. It was the first time in a Micro Sprint for the three Metal Mulisha Jumpers, Jimmy Fitzpatrick, Ryan Hagy, and Derek Garland. Special thanks also to the TRIPLE X drivers who allowed their cars to be used for the exhibition. You are so appreciated!!! And to the 42 drivers that showed up and put on a great show, you are so appreciated! You introduced Micro Sprint racing at it's best to many of the 1700 people in attendance for the first time. As people were leaving they expressed their excitement about what they had seen. They loved the show you put on, and many of them said they would return to watch you again. You brought a whole new audience to Micro Sprint racing!!! CONGRATULATIONS to Jerome Warmerdam, Trent Reed, and Ryan Reeves Main Event Feature Winners. And CONGRATULATIONS to rookies, Kyler Shaw, Buddy Shepherd and Merissa Rose for finishing in the top five in the Restricted Class. What a show you put on!!! |

MILITARY APPRECIATION DAY |
April 10, 2010 |
By: Chuck Hambin |
| Saturday April 10th was a very cold and windy day, but 40 plus racers came through and put on one SUPER show for the 1500 plus spectators that were in the stands. Carol Evans pretty much gave an overall coverage of the days activities on the home page from start to finish. So I will give how the drivers did. So here are results for the three classes that ran. There were 14 aggressive young drivers on hand in the 600 Restrictor Class to put on a good show. The day started off with qualifying and the fast time for the restrictors went to rookie Griffith Jones out of Hanford with a time of 12.237 at 58.838mph. Heat race wins went to the #77 of Drake Galante and the #92 of rookie Kyler Shaw. When the 20 lap feature came around the front row was Jones on the pole and outside was Trent Reed. When the green flag dropped it was Jones and Reed side by side into turn one and Jones got hooked on the berm and went to the back. On the restart Reed took command and lead from start to finish to take the checkered flag and the win. Following Reed were rookies Kyler Shaw, Buddy Shepherd and Merissa Rose, then came Cole Waller, Drake Galante, Tristan Guardino, Brenden Warmerdam, Tucker Worth, Griffith Jones, Ethan Evans, Derrick Galante, Bryce Volpa and Brandon Phillips. In the 600 Non-Wing class Jerome Warmerdam had the fast lap with 12.357 at 58.267mph then came back to take the 20 lap feature ahead of Colton Slack, Kenny Taylor, Koen Shaw, Cody Keys, Nicco Russo, David Johnson, Robert Hunter, Dustin Rhodes, Gerrit Willard and Tyler Hunter. Heat wins went to Shaw and Taylor. Visalia's young gun Austin Stone posted the fast time for the 600 Multi Class with a lap of 11.367at 63.341 mph. Jake Hagopian and Michael Faccinto took the multi heat wins. The 600 Multi's went 30 laps for their main event and at the drop of the green flag Ryan Reeves took the lead and later the win when the checkered flag was displayed. The battle and excitement was for 2nd and 3rd place with the Faccinto brothers dicing back and forth with Mitchell taking 2nd and Michael having to settle for 3rd. Trent Carter started 9th and took 4th ahead of Tyler Turner who started in 11th, following was Heath Duinkerken, Ben Worth, Austin Stone, Jake Hagopian, Blain Smothermon, Cody Smothermon, Brad Hannum, Casey Weikle. Landon Hurst and Dylan Black did not finish the main. |

Benefit Race in memory of Alyssa Danley on April 3, 2010 |
By Carol Evans |
On March 16th, the beautiful Alyssa Danley completed her journey on this earth, and went to her new home in heaven. She is now pain free, and singing and dancing with the angels. We at Lemoore Raceway loved Alyssa, and she brought so much joy to our track, and to our lives as she sang so beautifully our nation's National Anthem. Alyssa always had a smile and a wonderful spirit about her. She will forever be in our hearts. On April 3rd, the entire gate proceeds will go to Valley Children's Hospital in honor and memory of Alyssa. The gate fee will be $10.00 per person for adults, and children under 10, donations accepted. Please get the words out to your friends and family, and let's pack out Lemoore Raceway in Alyssa's honor. She deserves our best! The Benefit Race in memory of Alyssa Danley on April 3, 2010 was very successful, raising approx $6,000 for Children's Hospital of Central California, with more funds to still come in. The evening dedicated to honor the beautiful Alyssa Danley who passed away on March 16th after a fierce battle with cancer was a wonderful evening; with nearly 500 people coming through the front gates. On the track was all 87 Micro Sprint Drivers in their cars. There was a beautiful song by Sarah Joyce of Visalia, a tribute to Alyssa by Carol Evans, The Kings County Color Guard presenting our nation's colors, and a very moving recorded performance of the National Anthem by Alyssa, and then 1100 balloons were released in unison as a sign of our love for Alyssa. It was a beautiful sight to behold. Many thanks to all who supported and helped with this wonderful event to honor a very special young lady who will forever remain in our hearts at Lemoore Raceway. And approximately 600 spectators came thru the gates. Thank you all so much for coming out and showing your support.
We appreciate all those that worked so hard on their show trucks, they were amazing. The hours of work that goes into those working show trucks is just unbelievable. Some of the interiors were outstanding, and beyond anything I had ever seen. The chrome, the graphics, the paint, the polishing, all just perfect. You guys are awesome. You made the show a success. Thank you!
Thanks to all the participants of the equipment competitions, they were so fun to watch. The fans kept the stands full during all your competitions, that lets you know you did a good job of entertaining us. You all worked hard at it and gave it your best, and most importantly never gave up no matter how hard it got. You put on a show! Good job guys!
